Your support funds hay, grain, bedding, farrier care, veterinary visits, medications, and the daily handling every horse in our program receives.
Important notice about tax-deductibility: The Final Turn, Inc. is a Kentucky nonprofit corporation (EIN 42-3798360), incorporated July 13, 2026. Our application for federal 501(c)(3) recognition (IRS Form 1023) has been filed and is awaiting IRS determination. Donations are not currently confirmed as tax-deductible. Because the application was filed within 27 months of incorporation, recognition — if granted — is generally retroactive to our date of incorporation, which would cover gifts made now. That outcome is not guaranteed and we cannot promise it. Please keep your receipt and consult your own tax advisor. This notice will be updated if and when our status is confirmed. Payments for the care of your own horse are not charitable contributions.

Card giving is coming soon — today we accept gifts by check.
We're a young organization and haven't connected online card processing yet. A check is the fastest way to get your gift to the horses — and it means every dollar arrives without processing fees taken out of it.

We believe donors should understand exactly how their support is used. Here's how The Final Turn spends donation funds.
The largest recurring expense. Each horse requires quality hay, grain, and supplements appropriate for their care plan.
Shavings, stall cleaning supplies, and labor for daily stall maintenance — essential for health and comfort.
Regular trimming and shoeing is critical for every horse in the barn — comfort in retirement starts from the ground up.
Routine wellness checks, dental and deworming schedules, and an emergency reserve — because a retired racehorse's health still deserves racetrack-quality attention.
Prescribed medications, wound care, supplements, and other health-related supplies as directed by a veterinarian.
Staff compensation, insurance, and operational costs that keep the program running safely and professionally.
Halters, signed winner's photos, racing memorabilia, artwork, experiences — items with a story raise real money for the horses. If you have something you'd like to donate to our benefit auction, we'd love to hear from you.
Every horse at The Final Turn has a story. Visit their profiles to see where they came from and how they're doing today.
